Even though the BoM has revised the temperature predictions for central Australia it's still no small thing that they added two extra colours to the scale of hotness. It means they don't foresee this as a one off, that their scales are likely to need the extra bands...
But of course Anthropogenic climate change is bunk 'cause it snowed at lot in New York last year.
Oh and on environmental stuff LEAD , we'll have to see if more studies bare out the conclusions from the Mother Jones article but very scary if they do...
WOW. I looked at that and for the life of me couldn't figure out what the purple dot was. Those maps keep the same colours no matter where in the world they are and I didn't even know you could get a "hot" purple. In fact, there are a lot of colours on that map that I've never seen before.
